House of Prime Rib: Premier Steakhouse Experience in San Francisco

Very courteous staff, we were a few minutes late but they were accommodating. I’m not a huge fan of prime rib but still enjoyed it. Sides were amazing including their salad and so were their desserts. Will definitely come back again (if I get the reservations lol)

The portions are amazing!!! Fresh food!!! I showed up exactly before they open to get me a seat at the BAR WITH NO RESERVATIONS!! And I got a seat!! The Bar Tenders are sooo Nice and kind to me!! Very respectful too always giving me refills! Food is soo delicious and I don’t eat at all before I come so I can finish my food. it’s worth it and it’s not very pricey.

Great experience. Highly recommend for solo or duo travelers, not so much parties. If no reservation, come as soon or before they open and put name on list for walk ins, or ask bartender for a bar seat (also needs wait but these turn faster for smaller parties) Just choose the size of the prime rib you want, and yes if you finish the King Henry you get a second, smaller, slice (don’t be a dick and try to take it togo, they also won’t let you) There is also a triple King, which is exactly as it sounds Finish with a dessert, they’re good!

Was in the mood for prime rib and this place did not disappoint! Solid meal all around. Although a major part of eating at the House of Prime Rib is the “show” of the spinning salads and cutting the meat from the silver dishes, which I missed sitting at the bar, the food and drinks were excellent! Classic salad, well prepared prime rib with an assortment of horseradish sauces and jus, bacon-y creamed spinach and a loaded baked potato. Doth we forget the Yorkshire pudding to get all the bits on the plate. My suggestion would be to get the mashed potatoes and gravy, as the baked potato was on the dry side (still good tho).

Got a last minute RSVP @10pm. Arrived early and the host graciously seated us almost half hour earlier than our reservation. My last meal here was more than 5 years ago and nothing has changed. Outstanding service, great ambiance, good foods; however, the salad was not as appetizing as before. Not sure what’s changed because it’s been so long ago (>5yrs prior). The prime rib is tender and perfectly cooked, as well as other side dishes. Overall, the meal was great. Would love to come back for special occasions.

Even if you don't have a reservation, show up right when they open and put your name on both the house (dining room) waitlist and the bar list. This smart move gives you the best shot at getting seated sooner, whether at the bar for quicker service or holding out for a full table in the main room. Once you're on the list, grab a drink and find a spot to settle in—you'll want to watch the show! The staff turns the wait into pure entertainment. The servers and chefs are truly next level—professional, charismatic, skilled, and genuinely passionate. They make the whole visit feel special. Highly recommend this spot if you're up for a lively, memorable meal. Worth every minute of anticipation!

Pictures don’t do it justice. Completely lives up to the hype. The Prime Rib had great juiciness, flavor and size, and it was perfectly complimented by the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach (both which I still dream about to this day). I have a tremendous amount of respect for restaurants who provide proportions that justify the high price. Walked out of here completely satisfied with a full belly and zero regrets.

This was the best prime rib I've ever had! We went for my twin's bday and it was super busy but it didn't take too long to get our food. It was delicious! Recommend 10 out of 10!
